In preparing for the 2021 Christmas for the City - one of our leaders wrote this prayer which has helped the team center our hearts and provide grounding for this truly meaningful community event.
We invite you to pray with us.

We are all a part of God’s body

Through the grace of God, we are alive and breathing

God’s love is eternal, all powerful, all encompassing and includes all of God’s children

In times of uncertainty, we must trust in God’s grace and mercy because God will protect us

We are living in a time of global turmoil

but here in Winston-Salem, we are coming together to support our community members

from those struggling to keep housing in the midst of an eviction crisis

those searching for food in deserts 

those worried about exposing their children to the virus

those who have lost their jobs

those who have lost loved ones

those who have served on the frontlines of this pandemic

who were brave and refused to give up

those who struggled and felt despair

We pray for you

We lift you up

And ask that God takes you in God’s arms

that God covers you with blessings immeasurable

that angel wings cover you in the time of storm

and carry you through 

because in times of flood and fire

God’s grace and mercy saves us

During this Christmas season

We celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Christ

Our Messiah

Our Almighty God

Giver of all abundant blessings

There is no way we can repay you for the blessings you bestow upon us

We worship you and give you praise in thanksgiving
